I met Dragisa & Danijela at the wedding of one of my other couples. She told me at the wedding that she had gotten married last Summer, but that it was so hot, that they didn’t end up getting any portraits of themselves on their wedding day.
For Danijela’s birthday, Dragisa surprised her with a session from me and had me call to tell her the news. They decided to come with me to do what is called a “day after” session. A day after session is when the couple get dressed back up and pick a fun location to do portraits after their wedding day. People choose to do this type of session for various reasons. Some don’t get married at a location ideal for portraits, they may have had a destination wedding without a professional photographer, they may not want to take time away from their reception, or they may just want to go have fun on their anniversary.
So, after some weather delays and many discussions, they decided to have their portraits taken at the beautiful Las Colinas Canals. It was nice all day and then, wouldn’t you know it…. It got cold and VERY windy right before the session. They were troopers though and we managed to get some beautiful images.
