Oh Christmas Tree….

Let me be honest… I really hate decorating my house for Christmas, but I LOVE the end result of twinkle lights and garland strung all over my house.  To motivate me, I usually host a Christmas or New Years party, because what is the point of all that work if no one is there to see it but me and Keith?

Last year, I was laid off from my employer right before Christmas and then we were traveling to my in-laws in Missouri and I sure as heck wasn’t hosting a party, so I chose not to decorate.  I’m happy that my decor is all back up this year AND in about 4 hours, I have 27 people showing up for Christmas Eve dinner.

By the way, one of my goals for the New Year is to post more things about myself.  I think it is important that you know me, especially if you are considering me as your wedding photographer.  Couples have to put up with me for many times over a year, so I sure want you to know what you are getting into! I may bore you to death with my words, but hopefully I can post at least some pretty pictures and good recipes for you to enjoy 🙂

And, now on to a few of my decorations…

First, notice the wrapping paper.  There is a mixture of solids, strips, Batman, Superman, you name it.  This makes me crazy!  I like to select wrapping paper that is perfectly coordinating in a couple of different patterns that bring out the colors of my tree decorations.  My husband on the other hand loves super hero wrapping paper.  *sigh*  It is one of those battles I lost repeatedly for the last 10 years.  Don’t think I don’t complain about it though EVERY YEAR.

Also, it isn’t TOO bad in this picture, but now the bottom of the tree is nearly bald of ornaments because my two boxers like to pluck them off like apples — leaving the hooks and ornament tops on the tree so that they are never to be seen again and I am stuck with the ball part of the ornament that I can’t put back on the tree.

I’m not fooling anyone, so what the heck.  I might as well admit I’m naughty!

Extra dirty on the martini please!

Merry Christmas to you all.  I hope Santa brings you everything you wish for, but more than anything I want you to be able to spend your day with those you care about 🙂 ~Lyncca
